Horacio Caine
(David Caruso) made his mark in law enforcement as a tough cop on the mean streets of New York City. When a scandal with his partner took Caine to a personal crossroads, he traded the Big Apple for a new career in the land of pink flamingos in Miami, Florida. A natural leader, Caine was quickly promoted from the city's bomb squad to Lieutenant in the Miami's Crime Scene Investigation unit. Passionate, tough and dedicated, Horatio Caine is a cop's cop whether he's out on the streets or leading his team in solving complex murders.
Calleigh Duquesne
(Emily Proctor) has southern roots that run deep and strong. A childhood fraught with abuse and neglect, Calleigh had to take the reins in life early on just to survive. Valedictorian of her high school class and a science major in college, she moved into a career in law enforcement to make sense of her own life. Earning a reputation as a ballistics expert while part of the New Orleans P.D., Calleigh reached for a higher rung and took on additional challenges with Miami C.S.I. Despite the respect of her coworkers, her personal life remains volatile and confused.
Eric Delko
(Adam Rodriquez) came to Florida as the son of a Cuban refugee. Completing training with the Miami-Dade P.D., Eric used his natural athleticism as a member of the department's Underwater Recovery Unit. Delco is now a strong and committed member of the Crime Scene Investigation team. His scientific curiosity coupled with a passion for doing his best has proven that he has found his true home.
Alexx Woods
(Khandi Alexander) always dreamed of saving lives as a doctor. Now, as a forensic coroner, she solves crimes for victims who can no longer be saved. A mother of two, Alexx brings a unique, and very human, perspective to her on-the-job investigations. She relishes the opportunities she has to make a difference even if she can't rescue the sometimes forgotten victims of crime.
