Hercule Poirot's Christmas, by Agatha Christie, first appeared in 1940. It was also subsequently published as Murder For Christmas and as Holiday For Murder. What a wonderful present this book is for mystery lovers...another 'locked room' murder mystery featuring Christie's eccentric Belgian sleuth, Hercule Poirot.

A very wealthy Englishman, Simeon Lee, has been estranged from his family for some time. Can it only be a sentimental bit of 'Christmas Spirit' that has inspired him to invite his entire family to his mansion to celebrate the holidays? Well, as it turns out, it might not have been such a great idea to invite the family home for the holidays. Before you can say, "Happy Holidays", a blood curdling scream pierces the night. Simeon is found murdered in a dark pool of his own blood inside a locked bedroom and the clues to the murder are few and far between.

Although most of his dysfunctional relatives have reasons for wanting Simeon dead, who could have hated him enough to slash his throat? Christie's greatest gift to the world of fiction, Hercule Poirot, is soon on the case and determined to discover the killer in this very entertaining holiday mystery.
